Light Content Management System Helps Extend the Brands of Ad Agencies and Designers
Recently, I became aware of an interesting new website at Speaklight.com, which enables small and mid-sized businesses (particularly as agencies and designers) to create their own branded website. Tim Wall, director of product marketing for Element Fusion, has been heavily involved with the launch of the Light content management system throughout the past year and agreed to write a guest post for Brandcurve readers who may be interested in the service. Without further ado, here is what Tim has to say:

For many ad agencies and designers, taking their clients onto the web means turning them over to a separate web company. Without the resources to support in-house web development, there is no choice but to connect clients with an outside entity which limits the potential of the agency’s own brand.
The Light content management system set out to change all of that. Light launched over a year ago as a simple solution to the web needs of small to medium-sized agencies and design companies. The purpose of Light is to allow any designer or agency to offer web services to their clients under their own brand.
So, how does it work?
First, Light lets any company private label the system with their own brand. It is as simple as uploading a logo. Light hides all references to itself so that clients are exposed only to the brand of their agency or designer contact.
Second, Light creates a simple way to let the agency or designer create completely custom web designs for their clients and get them running on the web without having to know a single bit of code. Through a service called HTML Xpress, designs can be provided as simple image files and Light takes care of getting them up and running on the web.
Third, Light provides easy to use content management tools so that the client can take care of adding or changing their own web content. This is a huge time saver for agencies and a big money saver for the clients who can now manage their own websites without paying someone else to do it.
Fourth, Light provides transparent support to the client through a support website which also displays the brand of the parent agency or designer. The support site is filled with help articles written by the Light support team, thereby requiring no effort from resellers while still protecting their brands.
All of the brandable services of Light are available at no cost to the reseller. The only fees are the monthly costs of the websites themselves.
In short, Light is like having a web development team hidden away in a back office somewhere. Rather than taking the traditional approach of providing outsourced services, Light creates a new alternative for those who want to add web services under their own brand.
