Creative & Out-of-the-Box Advertising Tactics
I read a great post on Small Business Branding this past week by Ed Roach that listed five relatively new forms of advertising that could be described as anything from unusual to downright bizarre. Here’s a recap of Ed’s list:
- Bumvertising - ad placement dollars + homeless person’s sign = increased sales. Whether this tactic is politically correct or not and whether or not it works remains to be seen.
- Adversiting Tattoos through Lease Your Body - nothing makes a statement better than a tattoo on a person’s forehead or so we’re lead to believe.
- Google Earth Indirect Advertising - think Target and the massive logos they painted on their stores’ rooftops to be captured by Google Earth for some simple free advertising (see the picture above from the October 2005 issue of Technology Review Magazine).
- Your Name Into Space - place your logo or ad message on a spacecraft set to launch in 2010.
- Graphical Waterfalls - you have to see this one to really appreciate it. Check out the graphical waterfall used at tradeshows and events by Jeep after the jump.
Check out Ed Roach’s complete post on Small Business Branding to get his insight into these five unique advertising tactics.
Can you think of any other unusual, or possibly crazy, advertising tactics?
